Good work for students
Aroo can be a great project to work on if you're a student in computer engineering, programming, or other courses involving web application development. You can develop an even small part of Aroo and turn it into an end term project or even a degree project!
Areas of interest
- Computer Science and Programming: Aroo is both good software design principles and a bunch of interesting algorithms and data structures. If you're interested in these areas, there are good chances to find something for you to do. For example, there's a lot of work to do in re-engineering some critical parts and code segments and there's a lot of things to be designed. This is absolutely the widest field in the Aroo's development.
- User Interaction: if you are a student in design or communications techniques, you're welcome on board. The Administration interface is not optimal nor "easy" as much as we'd have liked (even if a great amount of time has been spent on it). Obviously, there are some guide lines you'll be required to follow but you'll just be free to follow your inspiration and bring your knowledge to the project: we want Aroo's administration to be something the user should never fear.
Up to YOUR grade
We are mostly students of different grades and background -- computer scientists, musicians, graphic designers and even end users! -- and everybody is enjoying their piece of cake (and advantages, of course). Your work on Aroo can be used in many ways, for example:
- End-term project: if you're studying databases, algorithms, human-computer interaction, interface design, web design...
- Degree project: if your work is more extensive on the same topics, it can also be turned into an undergraduate or master thesis.
Of course there's no need for you to be in the University, you can be studying at any level, provided you can produce some working code that can be incorporated into Aroo.
Please note that we can not by any chance guarantee that your instructors will accept your proposals. Anyway a nice thing to do is to get in touch with us in order to see what's there to be done and to define the big picture of your project. Only after you have a quite defined idea you'll have to contact you instructors and negotiate with them the formal terms of your work.
Also we don't (and can't) provide contacts with anyone in the education institutions or in the industry.
So what?
At this very moment, pretty everything needs some loving. Please take some time to see how you can get involved in the project.
And good luck!
